Spanish artist Antoni Tapies,as a forerunner of Integrated material art exploration and a leader of non-formalist painting,his rational use of materials has changed the traditional visual habits and aesthetic concepts in contemporary art creation.He has shown his unique,mysterious and unpredictable artistic style from the breadth of themes,the depth of thoughts,the use of materials,the impact of pictures and other aspects.Just like opening a book of discovery,he needs to be revealed page by page to understand him and his works in depth.Judging from the relevant collected research materials,on the one hand,it is known that Tapies’ combination of in-depth study of materials and his artistic creation have not made any doubt and inquiry as to whether the choice of materials themselves can be replaced by other material materials? Such an artist who is obsessed with and even gives life to materials and lets materials speak,then the relationship between the ideas behind each work and specific materials must be clear,not random.On the other hand,there is some confusion in the induction of its material language,although the selection of materials is ordinary and common,including materials as the theme of painting creation,as well as the development from materials to a new aesthetic dimension to another stage of conceptual art.1I want to synthesize the information I have obtained so far,learning the true feeling behind Tapies’ creation through carefully studying the specific material language and works of Tapies.Through the specific discussion of Tapies’ materials and paintings,I have some insights into my current creation,have future thinking,and find more suitable themes,materials,languages and emotional expression for my creation.This article focuses on the study of the use of integrated materials and emotional expression in paintings by Spanish artist Antoni Tapies from the following five aspects:First,there are many factors to trace back the formation of artists’ artistic style from the aspects of the era background of artists’ life,their growing environment andcontemporary art groups.Secondly,starting from Tapies’ unique perception of materials,he innovated in traditional painting creation on the basis of carrying forward predecessors.Third,through careful study of Tapies’ integrated material painting work,analyzing the close relationship between material application and emotional expression in his work,and finding the necessary of selecting specific material materials,so as to form a unique painting style and artistic thought.Fourth,after careful study and analysis of Tapies’ creative experience and thoughts,we realized the important enlightenment of material selection and application in the following creations,sublimation of spiritual thoughts through materials,and better understanding of material selection and application in painting.The author will always pay attention to and feel the real life,choose the appropriate theme,explain the reasons and thinking process of selecting specific materials in the creation of works,and guide himself to use more suitable materials for the current creation to strengthen the expression of artistic concepts.Fifth,the research on this topic also raises some questions about the current situation of increasingly abundant material,the continuous development of science and technology,the internet and virtual reality technology,and the continuous breaking of the boundaries between disciplines,how art itself develops and how the two can be effectively combined.At the end of the article,some viewpoints will be put forward based on the research on Tapies’ and the feeling of its own creation.
