On The Translation Quality Assessment Of A Tourist Guide To Quanzhou From The Perspective Of Eco-translatology

With the in-depth development of the Belt and Road Initiative,the integration between China and the world has deepened,and foreign exchanges have become more frequent.Quanzhou,as the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road and the Biggest Oriental Port in ancient times,has attracted more and more overseas tourists in recent years.Tourism translation,as a window for foreign tourists to understand Quanzhou culture,is also an important part in promoting Quanzhou culture to go global,and its accuracy and communicative function has become more and more significant.In order to promote the internationalization of Quanzhou culture and to enhance the external image of Quanzhou,it is necessary to carry out comprehensive quality assessment and improvement of the translated text of Quanzhou tourism materials.The bilingual guide of A Tourist Guide to Quanzhou was issued by Quanzhou Tourism Bureau and is the official tourism propaganda material of Quanzhou.The book provides a comprehensive and detailed introduction to Quanzhou's historical sites,scenic spots,folk customs,and food and transportation.The text “The History of Ancient Quanzhou(Erythrina)” in the book was sent to the UNESCO World Heritage Center in January 2017 together with the recommendation letter from the UNESCO National Commission Secretariat for inclusion in the World Heritage List.“schedule.At the same time,the book's bilingual attractions have been presented as the main bilingual bilingual propaganda materials for major attractions,and are presented in the scenic spot in the form of inscriptions and signs.The Quanzhou Tourist Guide is a strong,official,representative and comprehensive material for Quanzhou's bilingual tourism outreach materials.To this end,this paper chooses to use it as a starting point for the study of Quanzhou tourism translation,in order to evaluate its translation quality and propose improvements.Eco-translatology was first proposed by Professor Hu Geng Shen of Tsinghua University at the Hong Kong Baptist University in October 2001.It defined translation as “ the translator's choice to adapt to the translational ecological environment“ and A new interpretation of the nature,process,principles,methods and evaluation criteria of translation.This paper attempts to use ecological translation as a theoretical perspective,using literature research,case analysis and quantitative research,and intends to evaluate the quality of the English translation of Quanzhou Tourism Guide from the perspectives of language dimension,culture dimension and communication dimension.It proposes improvement suggestions for Quanzhou tourism translation materials,promotes the development of Quanzhou tourism translation research,and promotes the further development and maturity of ecological translation studies in the field of translation quality assessment.
