Chinese traditional culture has been the rarity of the world culture.While with the fast developing of technologies and economy,our people live in a rapid pace.Recently,there have been more and more chic and original matters to attract modern humans,therefore they pay the less attention to the traditional culture.So it is without any doubt that how to inherit and develop Chinese traditional culture has become an urgent problem.As an ancient folk arts,the glove puppetry develops quite differently in distinct areas—it is in high speed of promoting in Taiwan while in danger of disappearing in mainland China.After looking up the materials,I realize that Taiwan inheritors,in stead of refusing to change,have combined traditional glove puppetry with modern animation to create a kind of original and trendy glove puppetry animation which starts a new era both in inheriting glove puppetry and progressing Chinese animation.The glove puppetry animation refers to the puppetry animation which relies upon the form of the glove puppetry.In fact,the glove puppetry animation devotes to adding profound insights in Chinese traditional culture and analyses of modern culture to conventional Chinese martial arts.In this way,not only can it reflect current social situations,but also it debates the ugliness and beauty of human nature all the time.It is clearly that the feature differs the glove puppetry from the former traditional theatres which focus on emphasizing filial piety and righteousness.And the glove puppetry especially tends to use special Hokkien which is characterized by classical Chinese to be their uttered words.By the means of combining Hokkien with the compositions which assimilate the features of Chinese and Western music,the glove puppetry animation makes it to showing its own soul.Besides,the glove puppetry animation absorbs in using passionate or sentimental background music to perform its numerous martial arts and dramatic conversations.Also the glove puppetry animation mixes together the novel concepts and advantages of Chinese theatre,therefore it has become popular among young people.I choose the glove puppetry animation as my object of study and compare it with others animation works from contents,characters,music and production methods.As a result.I focus on discussing the feasibilities of inheriting Chinese traditional culture via animation and the impetuses of traditional culture to the development of Chinese animation.
