The ability to change learning strategies according to the situation and requirements is often an important indicator of the flexibility of students' thinking. Will a psychological experience also have an impact on the switching function of the strategy?A large number of studies in recent years have shown that emotions have an important impact on individual cognitive processing, and they are also an important part of human psychological activities.Combining them helps to understand psychological activities more comprehensively. In recent years, the motivational dimensional model has begun to attract the attention of researchers. The theory holds that the intensity and direction of emotional motivation can have different effects on cognitive processing,Positive and negative affects high in motivational intensity cause a narrowing of attentional focus, while positive affects low in motivational intensity cause a broadening of attentional focus. Therefore, combined with the emotional initiation paradigm,it can be examined whether the motivational dimension of emotion also affects the learning strategy switching. This study used 5(emotional motivation types:high-motivation positive affect,low-motivation positive affect, neutral affect,high-motivation negative affect,low-motivation negative affect)X 2(strategy type:UD strategy,DU strategy)X 2(task type:strategy repetition and strategy switching)within-subjects experiments.Combining the two-digit multiplication estimation,Study 1,Study 2,and Study 3 respectively examine the effects of emotional motivation on strategy switching in different task situations. The results show that:(1)Regardless of the task situations, the emotional motivation dimension will have an impact on strategy repetition and strategy switching.Under the compulsive switching paradigm of strategy:When the strategy is repeated, the reaction time under low-motivation positive affect is the shortest;when the strategy is switched, the reaction time under high-motivation negative affect is the shortest.Under the matched switching paradigm of strategy:when the strategy is repeated, only high-motivation positive affect have a positive effect;when the strategy is switched, the reaction time under low-motivation positive affect is the shortest.Under the free switching paradigm of strategy,When the strategy is repeated, the reaction time under neutral affect and high-motivation negative affect is the longest;when the strategy is switched, the reaction time under high-motivation positive is the longest. It can be seen that in different situations, strategy repetition and switching are affected by specific emotions.(2)Under the inducement of emotional motivation, all the experiments showed switching costs.Under the compulsive strategy switching:the switching cost under high-motivation and low-motivation positive affect is greater than the switching cost under neutral conditions, and the switching cost under the high-motivation positive is smaller than the switching cost under neutral conditions.Under the matched strategy switching:the switching cost under the high-motivation positive and negative affect is significantly greater than the switching cost under neutral conditions.Under the free strategy switching:the switching cost under high-motivation positive affect is significantly greater than the switching cost under neutral conditions. It can be seen that in each experiment, the high-motivation positive affect would increases the cost of strategy switching.(3)Different estimation strategies are affected by different emotional motivation. When use the difficult DU strategy, the cognitive resources are completely occupied and the influence of the dimension of emotional motivation is small:When use the easy UD strategy, the influence of the dimension of emotional motivation is large because the cognitive resources are surplus.(4)The motivational dimensional model is not a universal applicable mode, influenced by specific task situations. The results of the matched strategy switching paradigm and free strategy switching partially support the motivational dimensional model, while the results of the compulsive strategy switching have not found supporting evidence.
