Salvador Dali is one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century. He has amazing talent and strong artistic creativity. When he joined the Surrealist group in the early 1930 s,Dali received praise and affirmation from the group. However, his disagreement with the group on the understanding of the origin of psychoanalytic theory and political attitude eventually brought about his breakup with the group in the 1930 s,which caused criticism from the public.Since 1949,Dali's works have become more and more religious. From 1952,Dali has spoken in the United States about his "nuclear mystic art" and embodied his artistic creation. After 1949,Dali continued to work for nearly half a century, constantly engaged in painting, and involved in such fields as sculpture, design, environmental art, fashion, film and writing, which achieved good results. These late works are rarely carefully scrutinized compared to their early years. On the one hand, because Dali is the most influential and most famous painter in the Surrealist School of Painting, his research has become a fixed thinking;on the other hand,Dali 's works after the Surrealist stage have been regarded by scholars as the mediocre ones, which are seldom mentioned. In addition,Dali's active participation in commercial activities in the late period has also affected people's understanding of the nature of his art to some extent. This will not only lead to a bias in our understanding of Dali, but also affect the overall understanding of the artist and even his status in art history. This paper mainly includes five parts:The introduction introduces the research background of the paper and explains the significance of the research on Dali's works after 1949.Secondly,it is a summary of previous studies, which summarizes the current domestic and foreign research on Dali Angle and results; Finally,a brief explanation of the research ideas and methods is given. The first chapter mainly discusses the life of Dali.First of all, taking time as the main line, from Dali's birth, life background, growth environment, school experience, fame process, etc.,it summarizes the artistic road of Dali;secondly,it briefly summarizes Dali ' s most important social relationship with Gala and the surrealism groups;thirdly,it introduces Dali's iconic and original paranoid criticism.Through the combing of Dali's artistic life, the second chapter paves the way for the contrast between his creations before and after 1949.The second chapter mainly analyzes the paintings of Dali after 1949,analyzes its characteristics and compares before and after.Firstly,it analyzes the content of creation, the formal language and the connotation of the works after 1949.Secondly,it uses comparative research method to compare and analyze the works of Dali around 1949,and summarizes the characteristics of artistic creation after 1949.Thirdly,the reasons for this characteristic and change are analyzed from both internal and external aspects. Finally, the influence of this change on the development of western painting after 1949 is summarized. The third chapter mainly studies the creation of other art categories other than painting after Dali in 1949,and combs and analyzes according to the plastic arts, practical art and other art categories. The conclusion part refines and summarizes Dali ' s creative characteristics, works connotation and influence after 1949,and re-examines and evaluated Dali's later works.
