The "Victoria-Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Exchange Program" is a friendship-based business project between the Victoria Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Jiangsu Federation of Commerce and Industry(JSFIC).The reporter participated in the training courses and site visits as a lecture interpreter and liaison inter:preter respectively,from May 20 to May 26,2018.Geoff Lowe,chairman of Mil-Solar company was the main foreign client.The reporter was included into the interpreting project and received positive feedback from the clients.However,the reporter also encountered some challenges during the project,namely,inadequate mastery of specialized knowledge,poor adaptability to complex environment as well as confusion about the interpreter's identity.Illuminated by eminent interpreters and previous researches as well as the reporter's reflections,the reporter tries to tackle these problems and provides a series of solutions which are sectioned into three parts in this report.Interpreters should make full preparations before tasks,improve adaptability to complex environment,and enhance communicative skills.Based on comprehensive analysis of the first-hand data,the report has significant implications for not only consecutive interpretation and liaison interpretation,but also the understanding of interpreters'role as well.It also to some extent enriches the database of the industry.
