| Mind map is a visual thinking tool,which is widely employed in all walks of life home and abroad,especially in different kinds of jobs and everyday life.Recently,it is more frequently applied to the field of education.As a tool to train people’s thinking,mind map is of great use in changing people’s learning style.It helps the brain to remember the key information with the help of key words,pictures,colors and classification.And hand-drawn mind map can improve students’ interest in learning English and increase their learning efficiency.Reading is a linguistic way to get to know the world fully and deeply.Writing is a linguistic way to convey and exchange information.English reading and writing are two of the most important language skills,of which reading is a receptive skill and writing is a productive skill.In traditional English teaching models,reading teaching and writing teaching are separate,which is not beneficial to students’ learning English as a whole.Language skills are combined in everyday English.They are seldom used isolated.Therefore,this study attempts to examine the influence of hand-drawn mind map on the reading-writing combined teaching,especially in terms of students’ reading and writing abilities,interest,attitudes and habits.The methodologies of questionnaire survey,interviews and testing are seriously taken in the study.This thesis tries to apply hand-drawn mind map in English reading-writing combined teaching in junior high school and explores the following questions:1.whether the reading-writing combined teaching with the application of hand-drawn mind map has any influence on the students5 reading ability;2.whether the reading-writing combined teaching with the application of hand-drawn mind map has any influence on the students’ writing ability;3.whether the reading-writing combined teaching with the application of hand-drawn mind map can improve the students*interest,attitudes and habits in learning English.The result of the teaching experiment shows that the application of hand-drawn mind map can help students have a better understanding of the topic and logic of reading passages and the usage of relevant words and expressions.It also helps students to employ them to their own writing.It not only improved students’ reading ability,but also improved students,writing ability.And by using hand-drawn mind map,the students are more creative and interested in English learning. |
