| Born and grow in a Confucian family,Cheng Ju is a famous intellect and thinker,living in Song Dynasty.Influenced by the family milieu,Cheng Ju received well education early in his age,with Confucianism performing a profound influence on him.Under the association of his grandfather,Cheng Ju entered into the officialdom,in which he experienced many rough times and suffered an aggrieved journey.After decades of residence in temple,he ascertained the cruelty of reality,and converted him to Taoism and Buddhism for spiritual comfort.The eventual confluence among Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism during Song Dynasty has exerted a significance on Chengdu,who reflected this big ideological and cultural background in the Beishan Xiaoji,a work that avoids abstruse expression and embodies considerable research value.The collection,Beishan Xiaoji,compiled by Chengdu,containing many works relevant to Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,is the main text material and document evidence for us to see through Cheng Ju’s school.Based on Beishan Xiaoji,this paper focuses on internal thoughts and interrelationships of the relevant works-related to Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism-within it,and studies the essence of the Three Religious Thoughts.This thesis is divided into five chapters:The first chapter summarizes the ideological and cultural background of the Song Dynasty.With the separate development of Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism,Song Dynasty has also witnesses a convergence among the Three Religious Thoughts.The second chapter mainly discusses family background and life experiences of Cheng Ju,two major elements for his afterlife.The third chapter,the fourth chapter and the fifth chapter respectively interpret and analyze the Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in "Beishan Xiaoji".The third chapter studies the Confucianism in Cheng Ju’s "Beishan Xiaoji" Volume twenty-nine.Firstly,it summarizes the development of the Analects of Confucianism and Mengxue in the Song Dynasty,and then analyzes the Confucianism in the "Beishan Xiaoji".It reflects a kind of people-oriented thought and benevolent ideology,as well as a strong idea of going out of the country.The fourth chapter studies the Buddhist thoughts in "Beishan Xiaoji" and makes a simple review of the research on the Vimalaki Sutra.Furthermore,the Buddhism thoughts embodied in "The General Theory of Vimalane" are studied.These thoughts are Buddhism’s empty-minded thoughts and indifferent thoughts.The fifth chapter examines the Taoist thoughts of Cheng Ju’s "Beishan Xiaoji",focusing on the discussion.The important content of the "Tao" theory in "Beishan Xiaoji’",and the "Fourth of Beishan Xiaoji" Volume 13 also reflects the ideological trend of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism.In short,through the investigation of the ideological and cultural background of the two Song dynasties,combined with the life story and family history of Cheng Ju,the author tries to conduct a detailed study on the Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in Cheng Ju’s "Beishan Xiaoji".Cheng Ju thoroughly studied the Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,which reflects the trend of the times when Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism merged. |
