Study On The Art Style Of Chenshaomei

In the early 20 th century,influenced by thoughts form western world,some reformers managed to reform Chinese paintings,traditional paintings being stricken.At that time,there still existed many painters who were trying to revitalize Chinese paintings.They contributed a lot to the inheritance and development of Chinese paintings.Chen Shaomei was one of them.Born in a scholarly family,Chen Shaomei,who was influenced by his father,was good at literature and painting when he was child.At fourteen-year-old,he began to study painting following Jin Cheng,and join in “Chinese Painting Seminar”,and then became a cadre of “Hu Sher Art Association”.Chen Shaomei's life is short but rich,because not only has he achieved breakthroughs on Chinese paintings,but also devoted himself to education and fostered many eminent painters.The paper depicts the artistic origin and the formation process of Chen Shaomei's painting style,as well as his artistic activities.And the artistic characteristics of Chen Shaomei's landscape painting was analyzed from brushworks and colors.Through analyzing these contents,I was inspired by Chen Shaomei's painting spirit and painting techniques and incorporated his styles into my works.
