With the implementation of reform and opening-up and “the Belt and Road” Initiative,China's international influence continues to improve,and “Going Global” has become a new task for China in the new era.As one of the new “four inventions” in China,UHV(Ultra High Voltage)transmission technology has become a friendly bridge connecting China with its neighboring countries.Domestic manufacturers of electrical equipment have also begun to focus on overseas business.Electrical equipment instructions introduced the use of the product and matters needing attention is an integral part of the product.Therefore,English translation of instructions is an important part of overseas business.Written by engineers,domestic specifications are accurate and logical with a high density of professional terminologies and professional jargons.Considering the different educational levels of readers,the translation should clearly convey the meaning of the original text and be convenient to understand.Belonging to the science and technology translation,the translation of electrical equipment instruction book generally adopts the foreignization strategy.However,translating only from the degree of foreignization or domestication cannot convey the meaning of the original text.Therefore the author made the specification guide better by coordinating the use of domestication and foreignization in the process of translation from the readers' perspective.This paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter explains the background,characteristics and significance of the task.The second chapter describes the process of translation.The third chapter mainly introduces the meaning and development of domestication and foreignization.The fourth chapter analyzes the coordination of the two strategies in translation from the perspective of readers.The fifth chapter is the summary including the achievements and reflections and the problems to be solved.
