A Study On The Spirit Of The May 4th Movement And Its Significance In The New Era

The May 4th Movement,which broke out 100 years ago,it is a great patriotic revolutionary movement which takes the advanced young intellectuals as the vanguard and the masses of the people take part in the complete anti-imperialism and feudalism.(1)The May 4th Movement was also a new cultural movement against feudal culture,which began with the founding of Youth Magazine(later renamed New Youth)in 1915.It erected the banner of "Democracy" and "science",opposed the old morals,advocated new morals,opposed old literature,and advocated literature.In this movement,the vast majority of young people have fully played their role as mainstay.The May 4th Movement was the end of China’s old democracy and the beginning of the new democratic revolution,from which the Chinese revolution entered a new historical period.In the 100 years after the May 4th Movement,the “ May 4th Spirit ” inspired generations of Chinese people to strive for the rise of the Chinese nation.The spirit of May Fourth,with "patriotism,progress,democracy,science and creation" as its core,has not only become the lifelong pursuit of young people in that era,but also become a necessary condition for the country’s prosperity and strength.On April 19,2019,Xi Jinping pointed out that the Communist Party of China has always attached great importance to the study and interpretation of the May 4th Movement and the spirit of the May 4th Movement in conducting” the 14 th Collective study on the Historical significance and value of the May 4th Movement”.In the new era,we should continue to strengthen the study of the May4 th Movement and the May 4th Spirit.(1)Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era and put forward many new demands on contemporary youth.Xi Jinping said,"the orientation of youth values determines the direction of national and social development","The Chinese Dream is the dream of the younger generation," This is an emphasis on the importance of the development of contemporary youth and their values on national development.To date,the re-reference to the spirit of the May 4th Movement will be more conducive to the re-establishment of the values of young people,which is conducive to the access of young people to more scientific guidance,so that they have a higher level,a stronger ability and a better state of mind to create new achievements in the new era under the new era,and the Chinese dream of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Based on the introduction of the May 4th Movement and its historical status,this thesis adopts the methods of literature research and comparative analysis.This thesis analyzes the interpretation and development of the spirit of the May 4th Movement by the Communist Party of China from the period of the new democratic revolution to the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.The interpretation of the spirit of the May 4th Movement by the Communist Party of China has two main characteristics: Attaching importance to the status of youth and the cultivation of youth values is to encourage young people to improve their own quality.In the interpretation and development of the spirit of the May 4th Movement by the Communist Party of China,it is found that the spirit of the May 4th Movement,which has always been inherited by the young people,includes the spirit of patriotism,the spirit of progress,the spirit of democracy,the spirit of science and spirit of creation.Through the analysis of the words and deeds of Communists and intellectuals during the May 4th Movement,the author reveals the concrete connotation of patriotism spirit,progressive spirit,democratic spirit,scientific spirit and creative spirit.The new period of socialism with Chinese characteristics is under the background of the new era,which gives the contemporary youth the inevitable requirement and historical task of building a well-off society in an all-round way and building a comprehensive socialist modern country.Xi Jinping stressed: "the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will eventually become a reality in the relay struggle of the vast number of young people."(1)Therefore,carrying forward the spirit of the May 4th Movement is helpful for the contemporary youth to shoulder the historical burden bravely;it is helpful to strengthen the Marxist belief of the contemporary youth;it is helpful to carry forward the patriotism tradition of the contemporary youth;it is helpful to act with the actual action to be patriotic.It is beneficial for contemporary youth to constantly strengthen their study,ponder,accumulate knowledge and ability with a positive and open mind,learn to look at things critically,study hard the essence of various cultures,and master the excellent cultural achievements and knowledge of mankind.In keeping with the times to seek development,in the emancipation of the mind to create a new situation.
