Kung Fu movies have long been regarded as the most internationally influential film type in China.However,in recent years,both international box office and overseas audiences have evaluated the international influence and popularity of Kung Fu movies.reduce.From this background,this research starts to study the factors influencing the popularity of Kung Fu movies across cultural communication,to discover the specific problems of Kung Fu movies in cross-cultural communication,and to explore strategies to re-energize their influence.On the one hand,this study uses content analysis to encode the text of Kung Fu movies in the IMDb movie database,and linear regression analysis.It is found that the factors affecting the popularity of Kung Fu movies across cultures include:historical background,relationship,story Type,story meaning and other factors.On the other hand,the researcher used the above-mentioned influencing factors as an outline to conduct in-depth interviews with overseas audiences,and explored the roles and problems of these factors in the cross-cultural communication of Kung Fu movies,including the following points:insufficient introduction to the historical background in Kung Fu movies.It increases the difficulty of understanding of overseas audiences;overseas audiences are more willing to accept the identity of their own identity,and the complex relationship between characters in Kung Fu movies leads to the lack of understanding of stories by overseas audiences;the fantasy type of Kung Fu movies reduces the presence of overseas audiences.Sense;the story of individualism is more in line with the expectations of overseas audiences.In addition,the current problems in Kung Fu movies in cross-cultural communication include:lack of new generation of kung fu actors,multiple female images and lacks,and the phenomenon of "Chinese culture aphasia" in Kung Fu co-productions.In the last part of the study,the researchers reflected on the existing problems,and believed that the high-context culture,the different decoding positions of Chinese and Western audiences,and the "others" in the co-productions led to the emergence of the above problems.In this regard,the researchers proposed a targeted strategy,in the film text should create readable text,close text,search for interculturality of co-productions;in the kung fu movie industry,should cultivate new generations of kung fu actors,and Incorporate Kung Fu elements into more movie types.
