In recent years,the development of square dance has been rapid,there are square where can be found the existence of square dance.As a mass entertainment activity which arose and spread spontaneously in the folk,its participators are the female group born in the middle of the last century,and most of-this group have experienced the work exercises and faithfulness dance that prevailed in the collectivization period.And the faithfulness dance can be called the origin of the modern square activities,having the characteristics of scale,collectivity and popularity.This paper attempts to trace back the development process of urban square dance from the diachronic angle,and analyzes the different characteristics of mass square dance activities in different historical periods in order to analyze the changing track of state power and individual rights.Thus,we can see the evolution of the relationship between the state power and the civil rights.Before the reform and opening up,the mass dance activities mainly represented by radio gymnastics and loyalty dance,arose and became popular under the promotion of state power from top to bottom.Under the overall social structure and the political system of omnipotence,the state power went deep into every field of society.Therefore,the square dance,which is originally used as leisure and entertainment,had also been branded with the brand of state power and had been promoted in a mandatory way.It had collectivism’s education and power’s discipline and became the carrier and tool for the state to carry out ideological education and political propaganda.As a result,individuals regarded it as work and task and lost the right to choose themselves.Therefore,the popular dance activities in this period was dominated by the power of the state,and"dancing for the country" was the symbol of the mass square dance activities in this period.Under the background of marketization,the state power gradually shrinks from the social domain,the decentralization of the state power and the loosening of the policy make the free flow of resources and free space of activities appear in the social field,and relatively independent social forces begin to form.Individual also has more choice and autonomy because of it,the modern square dance rises under this background.After the retirement of the middle-aged and elderly women,for the purpose of self-entertainment and self-pleasure,the public dance,which has both the characteristics of market-oriented autonomy and the collectivity of the unit system.In sharp contrast to the prosperity of the folk society’s public dance,in this period,the state power takes a relatively indifferent attitude to many social problems caused by the public dance,and "dancing for itself" is the main feature of the public dance in this period.Under the policy discourse of the construction of the public cultural service system,in order to protect the individual rights and the basic cultural rights of dancers,the state power has issued relevant system documents to properly solve various social problems caused by public dance.These documents fill the institutional gap in the field of square dance,increase the institutional supply,and promptly respond to the institutional needs of the participants.At the same time,the local government has provided many concrete support and help for the square dance activities under the project of the public cultural service system demonstration zone.Under the intervention of the state power,the participants in the field dance further strengthen the self-identity and self-realization consciousness in the dance.During this period,the public dance activities in this period are characterized by the state and the dancers "dancing together hand in hand".Finally,through the analysis of different characteristics of square dance activities in different historical periods,it can be found that the political logic behind the diachronic development of square dance is precisely the political logic of the transition from liberation politics to life politics.On the one hand,the state power has realized the transformation from the hierarchical mode of action based on mandatory commands to the active mode of action based on resources.On the other hand,individual rights change from elimination state to continuous awakening,and the persevering and loving of dancers to square dance is the symbol of their pursuit of self-life style.The developmental process of the square dance is also the relationship between the state power and the civil rights of our country,with the narrowing of power scope and the transformation of the national power of our country,the individual’s right consciousness is constantly enhanced,and the influence on the state power is continuously improved.It provides the basis for the pattern of the benign interaction between the state power and the citizen’s rights.
