In a village in Taierzhuang District,Shandong Province,there is a special group living in the village.They form a stable and harmonious family by earthenware.Earthenware is the thing closely related to their lives,which endows them with social identity.Specific social identity directly determines how a person should act in a specific way.Compared with ordinary villagers,potters are a group with special identity in the village.At first,they made a living from pottery,which was a typical group of craftsmen.Later,their life style,which mainly depended on agriculture and supplemented by pottery,made them become a group of semi-agricultural and semi-craftsmen.The difference of their livelihood style determined that they were different from ordinary people's life world.In this life world,the group of pottery craftsmen used their unique outlook on life and values to carry out various life activities.In addition,the interpersonal network of pottery artisans is more complex.They interact with other people in the group and may have these identities at the same time: relatives,apprentices,collaborators and competitors.In such daily interaction,they have the transformation and overlap of roles different from other villagers,and their living space is more complex,which has high research value.However,in the process of tracing and rationalizing these identities and relationships,the family life of earthenware is also gradually highlighted.Earthenware is not a cold object,it has different family vitality in different situations.The focus of this paper is to show the expression and development of the complex relationship arising from earthen pottery through the family vitality of earthen pottery,to explore the life world of the group of potters,and then to answer the question of what principles people abide by to manipulate this thing,along with which symbolic words and values people will issue.At the same time,by combing and comparing the creation concept of potters,it can also bring a certain perspective and reference space for examining the relationship between contemporary skills and people,things and people,art and life.
