In the history of the development of modem Chinese literature,Mu Shiying is an important representative of the "New Sensation" and is known as the "sacred haid of the New Sensation".His urban-themed novels focus on the modern urban art to showcase the Shanghai metropolis of the 1920s and 1930s.They reveal the psychological world of people living in a unique city of semi-feudal and semi-colonial,showing a colorfol cityscape view. This thesis takes Mu Shiying,s "New Sensation" novels as the research object, and examines his "urban patrol" and his implicit ideological position from the multiple perspectives contained in his novels.By analyzing the use of film technology, the modem art techniques, and female writing embodied in his "New Sensation" novels,we extract the viewing mechanism contained in his works. And by backtracking his life and Shanghai's special political geography at that time,we explore his creation of "urban patrol" and their inplicit political positions in the novels. The full text is divided into three core parts:The first part is based on the "peek" perspective of Mu Shiying's urban male in Shanghai, exploring the "urban patrol" in the face of the passive modernization of the Shanghai metropolis, obeying the capitalist commodity logic and generating cosmopolitanism on the economic level. At the same time,we grasp the anxiety mentality generated by the urban subject due to Shanghai's special geopolitics, and analyzes and discusses it.The second part starts from the image analysis of "modem girl" in Mu Shiying,s"New Sensation" novels, discussing the "gaze" behavior of the urban subject to the"modem girl",and exploring the relationship between the "modem girl" and Shanghai.By comparing the writings of Left-wing urban literature and revolutionary new female images,we analyze Mu Shiying's discourse depiction of feminization and non-nationalization in Shanghai in the novels of "New Sensation".The third part focuses on the cultural mentality in Mu Shiying's "New Sensation"novels."Urban Patrol" has "a last glimpse" of psychological behavior in the face of the interpersonal relationship and the life in the city.Through the analysis of this"glance" mentality with complex emotions,we explore the image of a group of urban "loners" and its connotation,in order to see the individualistic position expressed in Mu Shiying's creation. The conclusion part is based on the above description, combined with the creative characteristics of the "New Sensation novels, suomed up the non-nationalized cosmopolitan imagination and individualistic gestures reflected in Mu Shiying's novel creation.
