English vocabulary is the foundation of English teaching.Compulsory Education Curriculum standards(2017 Edition)requires students to learn on the basis of certain strategies.Students in Grade 7 cannot understand the concept of “strategy” very well and for vocabulary learning they recite isolated letters in each word.Cognitive strategy training in vocabulary learning is not only to guide students to optimize the methods of vocabulary learning with using effective cognitive tools consciously,but also to improve the efficiency of vocabulary learning as a whole.Based on mastering some cognitive strategies,metacognitive strategy training is to guide students to control the whole process of vocabulary learning regulated by planning strategies,monitoring strategies and evaluating strategies from a macroscopic perspective.Mastering certain cognitive strategies is the premise of metacognitive strategy training,which can regulate the development of cognitive strategies in the process of vocabulary learning.The author conducted 15 weeks of training in cognitive strategies and metacognitive strategies in 2 classes of junior high school students.The results show that it is feasible in Grade 7 to carry out the training of cognitive strategies based on thinking map in vocabulary teaching,which can improve the efficiency of English vocabulary learning.Metacognitive strategy training improves the effectiveness of vocabulary cognitive strategies,which can improve the accuracy of vocabulary memory and long-term memory effect.Due to the limitations of various factors,this study is a useful attempt to improve vocabulary teaching methods,so as to enhance students' awareness of autonomous learning and cultivate their ability to learn independently.The focus of following research is to expand the scope of research and promote the popularization of research results.
