A Research On Flower-and-Bird Porcelain Painting

The Chinese painting has a long history,with rich themes and diverse types,among which the flower-and-bird painting also has the same features.Traditional flower-and-bird painting focuses on the themes of flowers,birds,insects and fish in the nature.Although the flower-and-bird porcelain painting is quite different in terms of the material that is used,it is still advanced and developed on the basis of flower-and-bird painting tradition.The earliest flower-and-bird porcelain painting can be traced back to the Neolithic Age,after which it developed with the accumulation of history,presenting a diversification trend.The modern porcelain painting,whose themes are dominated by flower-and-bird,has integrated into people's life and carried profound historical and cultural spirits.It is not only appreciated by ancient and modern artists,but also loved by general public,for it has fully expressed people's positive attitude towards life and the longing for returning to nature.Through the analysis and exploration on the expression,style,aesthetic value and cultural implication of ancient and modern flower-and-bird porcelain painting(lotus theme),this paper provides a detailed historical reference and theoretical basis for the graduation creation based on the theme of "Xiang Yi Qing Chi(Fragrance in Lotus Pond)",as well as a conclusion of some new experiences and ideas in the process of active and diligent practice.
