| Prince Sa Duo Fed the Tiger with His Own Body is an excellent piece of work among Dunhuang frescoes which are world famous gems of art,cultural heritage of Chinese and the main component of Dunhuang art.Dunhuang frescoes,with their exquisite painting crafts,grandeur and rich contents.provide the later painters with different painting styles at various periods,featured shape and patterns and colors.They can learn ancient painting skills,experience traditional cultures and create their own pieces of art.I have done a thorough and deep research on Prince Sa Duo Fed a Tiger with His Own Body discovered in NO.254 grottoes.Besides its beauty in structure,color and shape,what captivate me are its grand momentum in presenting a classical Buddhism story briefly and fully.It is so unforgettable especially the painting skill which should be classical.This narrative painting is in the form of hetero chronic pattern which is unique and creative.In one single picture,mixes different time,space and plots,with the theme prince Sa Duo fed the tiger with its own body.highlighting three scenes "cutting neck","umping off the cliff" and "feeding the tiger".The last scene should be the climax.This painting,with its striking theme,complete structure,vivid shape and exquisite skill,finds its expression of strong tragic atmosphere and high artistic value.Through the analysis and appreciation of Prince Sa Duo Fed the Tiger with His Own Body,I have mastered the artistic skills and techniques of Dunhuang frescoes and thus instructing my own painting creation practice.Firstly,I borrowed the structure of hetero chronic pattern,resulting in freer creation representation,Secondly,I learned exaggerated shaping,unruly employing pen and lines,harmonious contrastive color an other factors in my own creation.Based on this painting.I created Heroes,Drawing Saloons,National Essence---Taiji,Beijing Opera--the Three Kingdoms and hoping that all these can foster my own unique expression gradually. |
