In order to meet the requirements of the new curriculum reform,the Ministry of Education issued the outline of basic Education Curriculum Reform,which clearly points out that the phenomenon of rote memorization and mechanical learning should be innovated in the traditional teaching process.Students are encouraged to participate independently,be diligent in hands-on,be willing to explore and search for information,acquire new knowledge and ability to deal with problems.Thus,inquiry teaching has become the key teaching method in the new curriculum reform.In some rural areas where economic develops a little slow,ideological awareness is declining and knowledge consciousness is absent,examination is the main purpose of English education,and it doesn't care about the cultivation of students' English integrated ability.There are also some disadvantages in teaching methods and teaching contents.Thus making the rural English classroom be full of cooperative inquiry learning environment can effectively cultivate students' autonomous learning ability and meet the needs of students' language learning.It is also beneficial to the development of teachers' teaching ability.This study is based on this and hopes to study the effect of inquiry learning on the establishment of efficient English classroom in rural senior high schools and help start the reform of English classroom teaching in senior high schools.Based on the definition of inquiry learning,the definition and evaluation criteria of efficient classroom and the research situation at home and abroad,this study searches and analyzes the current situation of efficient classroom and inquiry learning.Based on the research on the application of inquiry learning in rural English classroom,this paper focuses on the mode of inquiry learning and the application of "5e" model in the rural senior high school English classroom.Then,the relevant conclusions are drawn.At the same time,this paper analyzes the effect of inquiry learning in rural senior high school English teaching.The conclusion is that it can improve the effect of inquiry learning on classroom teaching objectives,arouse the interest of English learning,create new classroom teaching methods and improve the relationship between teachers and students.
