The Research On Hao Jing's Poetic Thoughts

Hao Jing was an important ideologist and litterateur during the evolution time of Jin Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty,and he was able to present some original thinking on poetry which was based on the North cultural soil and affected by the North literary current.This paper takes Hao Jing's poetic theory as subject investigated and applies the method in researching history of literary thought,in order to explore the poetic theory and thought of Hao Jing under the north literature background in Jin and Yuan Dynasties.According to analyse the literary current,literary arena's debate and literary responsory among teachers and friends,we shall draw the outline of creating condition and aesthetic orientation of Hao Jing's poetic theory as authentic as possible.Based on the above,we shall know the poetic theory and poetry writing of Hao Jing systematically,analyzing the primary content of his poetic theory,and then research his criticizing and inheriting on Song and Jin poetics,as well as the innovative significance on early Yuan Dynasty's poetic.This paper has four chapters.The first chapter is the foundation of the whole passage.I will restore the literary current and poetic debate environment where Hao Jing was in truly and roundly from the occurrence subject aspect.That is,Hao Jing was critical of the flippant style of writing at the end of Jin Dynasty,and he was influenced by both the literary current and Li Confucian Philosophy of the time.He often had some responsories with literati and received instructions from Yuan Haowen,Liu Qi,Yang Huan,Zhao Fu and others successively.Based on this,he could propose some valuable opinions in poem.The second chapter puts emphasis on researching Hao Jing's poetic theory from his poetic criticism,preface and postscript.Ling Chuan Collection had preface and postscript that Hao Jing wrote for other people's poetry collection,and epistles that Hao Jing wrote to predecessors and talents of the time.Such as Chiming in with Tao Yuanming's Poem with preface,Exposition of The Five Classics with preface(the Book of Songs),Anthology of the Modern-style Poetry in Tang and Song Dynasties with preface,Biography of Zhu Xi's poems with preface,Yi Wang Ya with preface,Argument with Han Yanju in Poems and Books and so on.That's the dominant existence of his poetic theory which can be summarized as follows: In the aspect of poetic origin,he agreed with expressing emotions and he regarded elegant as the standard of commenting poems;In the aspect of poetic writing,he agreed with insight and self-acquisition based on extensive learning.In the Ling Chuan Corpus,he mentioned self acquisition for twenty-four times.Therefore,we can see the importance of self acquisition to Hao Jing's poetic theory.In the aspect of poetic style,he esteemed majestic and natural highly,which originated from his influenced by the north regional culture and his teacher Yuan Haowen.In the aspect of path of learning poetry,he proposed archaic poetry taking Han,Wei and Jin poems as the clan,and modern-style poetry taking Tang poetry and Du Fu as example.His proposal blazed a way for the literary ethos in Yuan Dynasty that revering Tang Dynasty and restoring the ancients.The third chapter bases on Hao Jing's poetic writing and excavates his hidden poetic thought and aesthetic trend.We are able to find his aesthetic purport from those poems that discuss on poetry:Tracing Yuan Haowen's theory,Reading Ma Zhengjun's leaving article,Inscribing on Qin Qi's portrait,Felicitating on Yuan Haowen's birthday,Reading Dang Huaiying's corpus,Inscribing on Cai Gui's corpus,Inscribing on Su Shi's portrait,Inscribing on Sima Guang's portrait,Chatting on portraits and so on.That is,poetry should take root on the Six Classics,concentrate on its spirit and pursue the ancient and elegant style.This chapter is connected to the second chapter.This two chapter delineates Hao Jing's poetic theory comprehensively and systematically.The fourth chapter aims to discuss the succeeding and innovating meaning of Hao Jing's poetic theory from the perspective of axiology.It's unavoidable that Hao Jing's poetic theory is marked with the imprint of its literary current as a well-known and erudite Confucian scholar in the poetry circle at the end of Jin Dynasty and the beginning of Yuan Dynasty.This chapter takes the historical background that Hao Jing was in as the fundamental point and pierces the inherit and breakthrough his theory to the Song and Jin's poetics,and also the guidance and creation to the early Yuan's poetics.The background was that the Mongolian nationality destroyed Jin Dynasty and confronted with the Southern Song Dynasty.On this account we shall research the significant meaning his theory to the whole Chinese Poetry History deeply.
