| Negotiation of meaning is often used in the class of second language acquisition,and this new teaching method is no stranger to today’s classroom teaching.Many scholars have researched whether negotiation of meaning plays an important role in second language acquisition and have reached positive conclusions.As a link of communication and interaction between teachers and students,negotiation of meaning enables students to have more opportunities to participate in class,promotes the smooth communication,helps teachers understand students’ understanding,and injects fresh blood into the traditional classroom model.As an effective means to promote communication,negotiation of meaning is indispensable in the course of spoken Chinese as a foreign language.However,looking at the current researches on negotiation of meaning,most scholars take the Chinese learning English as a second language as the research background,and there are few research on the negotiation of meaning in Chinese as the target language.Therefore,this paper aims to explore the negotiation of meaning in the spoken course of Teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This paper mainly spoken Chinese as a foreign language class as the setting of the discussion and analysis,two teachers and sixty-two students who are at the elementary level of Chinese language in a university in south China are taken as research objects,through the observation and recording of the actual situation of the classroom,we strive to preserve the most realistic classroom interaction and negotiation,transfer the recordings into words,and extract the useful parts,finally,the collected corpus is analyzed,summarize the quantity and effect of each negotiation method in the speaking course,suggestions are based on the different characteristics of negotiation of meaning between different objects in the speaking course classroom.Through the observation of the class,it is found that in addition to the three negotiation methods of confirmation check,clarification request and comprehension check,there is another negotiation method that does not belong to any of the existing negotiation methods.The author named it as guiding students to self-check.In the observed cases,clarification request is the most common used form of negotiation by students,while comprehension check is the most frequently used method by teachers,but this kind of negotiation method is easy for students to misunderstand it as a pet phrase of teachers,thus losing the role of negotiation.Therefore,it is necessary to control the frequency of use.Finally,by comparing the negotiation of meaning between different objects,the author finds that they have both advantages and disadvantages. |
