Investigation Of Images Of Rural Literati In Zhao Shuli's Novels

As a unique writer in the history of modern and contemporary literature,Zhao Shuli successfully portrayed a large number of peasant images in his novels.Meanwhile,he also portrayed a great number of rural literati images in his novels.Although these rural literati also live in the rural area,they are different from ordinary,illiterate famers,namely the so-called “illiteracy”.These rural literati images have appeared in Zhao Shuli's novels for many times.They not only occupied a place in the character image pedigree of Zhao Shuli's novels,but also formed one of the core concepts,that is,the problem of "intellectuals" in Zhao Shuli's novels.Zhao Shuli's novels not only portrayed a series of farmers' advocates for benefits,but also a number of labor-oriented.In addition,there were also a large group of people who harm the interests of farmers and someone who not participating in agricultural labor.These four types of people share one common feature--rural literati.The readers can feel the unique views and thinking of author on these characters by reading the texts.Therefore,this thesis tried to outline the overall outlooks and individual characteristics of rural literati in Zhao Shuli's novels and the special emotions of author towards rural literati by trying to sort out and categorize the pedigree of the rural literates in Zhao Shuli's novels.and then explored the causes of the images of rural literates,on this basis,grasped the significance and artistic limitations of the character images in Zhao Shuli's novels.This thesis was divided into four chapters.Based on the novel texts,the first chapter divided the rural literati images in Zhao Shuli's novels into four types: farmers' advocates for benefits,labor-oriented,farmers' enemy for benefits,and someone who not participating in agricultural labor.through the classification of their images and according to their common characteristics.Summarized the overall outlooks and individual characteristics ofrural literati during the process of sorting out and categorizing the images of rural literates,and then more deeply recognized the emotional attitude of this peasant writer towards rural literati community.Chapter two explored the reasons for shaping the images of rural literati in Zhao Shuli's novels by combining the background of the times and the identity of the writer.From the prospective of "intellectual" policy of the mainstream ideology at that time,the writer's peasant identity and rural life experiences as well as the writer's intellectual temperament and self-cultivation,this chapter tried to analyze the shaping causes of the images of rural literati in Zhao Shuli's novels.On the basis of sort out and classification of the rural literati images in Zhao Shuli's novels,Chapter three further analyzed the significance and value of the rural literati images in Zhao Shuli's novels,namely analyzed the Zhao Shuli's values and his thinking and expectations of ideal rural literati images through the rural literati images in Zhao Shuli's novels.Chapter Four analyzed the defects and deficiencies in artistic expression of the rural literati images in Zhao Shuli's novels from the aspects of politicization uniqueness and stereotype of the characters.
