A Probe Into The Musical Art Characteristics Of "Ayi Guli"

"Ayi Guli"(????)was a Chinese folk opera which was first created at the end of 1964 and premiered in the China National Opera&Dance Drama Theater in 1966.This play was adapted from the movie "Red flowers in Tianshan Mountains" by Hai Xiao,and composed by Shi Fu and Osman Jan.Through the investigation and research of the Kazak folk music and customs,the playwright and the composers present to audience a life story with distinctive Kazak folk characteristics.In the process of creation,Shi Fu has adhered to his consistent and diversified creative methods,having a large amount of Kazak folk music elements and Mongolian long-tune music,Western orchestral music,and composing techniques clash with each other violently.The aria of the opera created by this method is both beautiful and has a singing difficulty to some extent.It is an excellent work representing the integration of different creative thoughts such as "borrowing foreign musical elements to serve Chinese situation" and "adopting multi-ethnic music in the opera".This thesis takes the musical art characteristics of the opera "Ayi Guli"(????) as the research object,and explores the deeper artisticvalue of this work and elevates the excavated artistic elements to the theoretical level by means of an overall study of the libretto and music creation of "Ayi Guli"(????).It provides some references for the democratic creation and development of Chinese opera.This thesis mainly consists of four chapters,namely,Introduction:which combs and introduces the development of Chinese opera before the emergence of "Ayi Guli"(????),the current research status and research significance of "Ayi Guli"(????);Chapter 1:Shi Fu and "Ayi Guli".It mainly introduces Shi Fu's lifetime and his music creation,creation background and plot structure of the opera "Ayi Guli"(????);Chapter 2:Musical Art Characteristics of "Ayi Guli"(????),which is the main chapter of this thesis.This chapter conducts an in-depth investigation and study of the musical art characteristics of "Ayi Guli"(????)from the perspectives of music creation characteristics and singing characteristics,among which,the former mainly focuses on the libretto characteristics,characteristics of Kazak folk song,how to deal with the spoken parts in the opera,integration of Kazak music and Mongol long tune,and the impact of music creation on the use of instrumental music,while the latter mainly focuses on the use of several arias in the opera,use of a variety of singing forms.Chapter 3 selects the representative tenor aria "Do I really forget my root?" and "Blizzard" sung by Hu Songhua for specific analysis,so as to provide reference forbetter singing.Based on Chapter 3,Chapter 4 summarizes the artistic value and significance of the creation of "Ayi Guli"(????).
