Balthus is a master of figurative painting in the 20 th century.He was praised by Picasso as "the greatest painter of the 20 th century." His work inherits classical painting techniques and tries to "express the things behind the things we see in the world." Mental emotions and subtle psychological changes.Fischl is a representative of the new expressionist painting genre in the United States.His works adhere to the traditional techniques of shelf painting,but his personality is distinct and artistically impactful,showing the subtle hidden psychological trauma of the characters behind the scenes.Although there are many differences in the methods of creation and painting language between the two generations,there is no shortage of discussion in this aspect of the academic world.The author’s focus is on the exploration of the commonality between the two and the resulting Thinking.The works of the two painters are outstanding representatives in the figurative paintings.They are not only worthy of study and study on the painting techniques such as cloth color,composition and character modeling.More importantly,they are unique characters,symbols and secret narratives in their works.The commonality is the rectification and tempering of the development of painting art at that time.It still has a long-lasting enlightenment for the application of the techniques of oil painting,the social significance and the appreciation of oil painting.This article will focus on the commonality of the narratives of the works of the two artists,and try to use the methods of literature research and comparative analysis to analyze the unique techniques of their creation,the creative ideas of social and human state,and the society of works.Meaning and other commonalities,through the analysis and comparison of the symbolic elements of windows,girls and boys,and symbols of fruits in their works,to explore the hidden emotions and psychological states behind the two artists’ works and their reflection on artistic creation.
