| At the end of the nineteenth century,the two-dimensional decoration art was prevailing in Europe.Aubery Beardsley(1872-1898),who was only 22 and a representative personage art nouveau movement,drew on others successful experience and created numerous illustration works with his talent.In the form of manifestation,Beardsley borrowed the complanation from the oriental arts,and made the bold attempt to use black color and blank space.His work is boasted with succinct and accurate lines and oriental charming.Beardsley created the illustration work that titled by Salomé for Wilde,marking the formation of the “Beardsley Style”.Figures in the illustration are composed of cold lines and striking faces,which present the Salomé in different form.The oriental faces and magnificent character of the figure also enrich the pictures with strong sense of “Century End”.The illustration of Salomé starts from the original work but is not confined within the contents,because it can be seen in this work that character shape and plot arrangement are featured with the unique understanding and attractive imagination of Beardsley.This thesis analyzes the characteristic of the manifestation in the illustration of Salomé on the basis of the interpretation for the relation among the modeling language,literature and illustration works.In this way,this thesis seeks to explore the way to maintain the consistency in the illustration and literature works and recreate the work in the illustration.It is no doubt that the study of the illustration in Salomé is of great value. |
