Since the new era,Chinese literature has shown the development trend of diversification and polymorphism,and the central plains writers group has become an important part in the territory of contemporary literature.Liu zhenyun's novel creation has experienced the process from the naive to the mature,and its artistic personality is also from the ordinary to cut a figure.Exploring the rhetorical features of his novels has a positive role in promoting the better understanding and reading of his works,and at the same time,it has different degrees of reference significance for reading the literary works of other writers in the central plains.On the basis of the theory of novel rhetoric by Wayne c.Booth,Li Jianjun,etc.,and from the perspective of Tan Xuechun and Zhu Ling's generalized rhetoric,this paper traces the causes of the rhetorical features of Liu Zhenyun's novels and explores the rhetorical features of his novels.Liu Zhenyun's novel creation is divided into four stages: the fledgling,famous in the literary world,spiritual hope,and re-intervention in real life.On the basis of fully grasping the creation of his novels,we summarize the rhetorical features of his novels from three aspects: the language of his novels which has the function of discourse construction rhetorically,the structure of his novels which has the function of text construction rhetorically,and the characters which has the function of spiritual construction rhetorically.The formation of the rhetorical features of these novels is closely related to Liu Zhenyun's own growth experience and life experience,the regional culture where in Yanjin,Xinxiang,Henan province,and the context of the whole big social and the era.In his novels,Liu Zhenyun chooses the meaningful language--the dialect,the satirical language with humor as the cover and the carnivalesquel language which participates in the discourse construction of his novels.The choice and use of dialect implies the intention of the author,which embodies the author's unconscious identity himself for the son of the ground,a tool used by the author to construct the language style of the text,and a textual strategy used by the author to stimulate the reader's emotion.Liu zhenyun sees the humorous culture as a survival philosophy,so he can use the satirical language with humor as the cover skillfully and establish a rapport with the readers.He uses the humorous language to dispel the sense of tragedy and to control the external distance in his novels sequentially.On the other hand,he use the satirical language to point out the significance of his novels and to control the innerl distance in his novels sequentially.The function of the carnivalesquel language is mainly reflected in the fact that the parody of language forms an intertextual and contextual reduction,the vulgarity forms a rebellion between the beauty and he tugliness,and the collaged,the repeated and the roundabout language which has the unfamiliar form constructs a kind of discourse tension in the form of deconstruction.These language endow Liu zhenyun's novels with unique discourse attributes.The unique structure of Liu zhenyun's novels--the dramatic structure,the disjunctive structure and the opposed and unified structure are involved in the textual construction of his novels.Liu zhenyun is good at structuring its dramatic structure through the pictures with the function of "showing",the plots with the function of "telling",the beginning and the end with the function of symbol and metaphor rhetoric,so that we can experience the narrative power and the beauty of the rhetoric in dramatic structure with both form and meaning.The rhetorical function of the disjunctive structure is mainly composed of the rhetorical effect of the truth is hiddened in the jumping structure,the defamiliarization reading experience brought by the use of preface,postscript and appendix,and the interference to the resonance which dues to the position and proportion of the preface,the text and the ending.In addition,the structure of Liu zhenyun's novels is also marked by the traditional cultural thinking in dual structure,such as the open and the atresia,the game and the serious,and the emotional and the intellectual are both exist in the structure of liu zhenyun's novels.The author demonstrates and conveys his aesthetic design in the textual level of his novels through these special structural art.The characters in Liu Zhenyun's novels,such as the peasants,the intellectuals and the women,participate in the spiritual construction of the people.The farmers in Liu Zhenyun's novels have full culture character under the complex realistic context.The functions of their role change from the reference for the city in Urban-rural dual structure to the reference to reality,another their attachment to the land which comes from the hunger conveys their and the author's land complex,and their pursuit of power and "survival" toward the city of action also declared the rural utopia's disillusionment,which have universal significance for the social environment.In addition,Liu Zhenyun keenly captured the changes in the position of intellectuals with the development of society and he brought this change into literary creation.By describing the loss and betrayal of intellectuals,he presents to us the appearance of this "degenerate" body,which contains the writer's deep cognition from his introspection.However,his purpose is not only the disenchantment of revealing nature,but also building the charm which calling for the return of the ideal personality of intellectuals.From the perspective of female image,the history of the development and the awakening in consciousness of the women is reflected in Liu Zhenyun's novel creation.The change of them is from the tools which controled by the male,the slaves without wages to remove the tight hoop of the role actively.Although their transformation is uncompletely,but the action which presented by they pull their body out the repressed environment situation has strong sense of "revolution",and subversion.No matter which kind of characters in Liu Zhenyun's novels,they and their active or passive response to the living environment represent the corresponding discourse position,which has the cultural metaphor participates in people's spiritual construction rhetorically.This paper establishes the relationship between the different stages of writing text,regards the interaction between the writer,the reader,the text and the context as the basis of analysis,and analyses the rhetorical features of Liu Zhenyun's novels from three aspects: words,text and spirit under the perspective of the generalized rhetoric.Therefore,the analysis of the rhetorical features of Liu Zhenyun's novels has improved from the technology to the art,which provides a new train of thought and space for the analysis of Liu Zhenyun's novels and the rhetorical features of them.
