Teacher's feedback is an important part of teacher's discourse in English teaching class.On one hand,teacher's feedback is the main source of language information for students'input.On the other hand,teacher's feedback could greatly influence the quantity and quality of students'oral output.Therefore,teacher's feedback is very important in high school English teaching,which is of great significance for promoting students'oral output in class.Therefore,how to adopt teacher's feedback more effectively to improve students'oral output proficiency is a significant problem.At present,the research results on the influence of teacher's single feedback and complex feedback on students'English oral output are limited.Therefore,based on the input hypothesis,interaction hypothesis and output hypothesis as well as the IRF model,this study adopts classroom observation,audio-recording and questionnaire as research methods to study the influence of teacher's feedback on students'oral output in senior high school English class.Then the paper summarizes the influence of single feedback and complex feedback on students'oral output by analyzing 25 classroom observations and recordings as well as 264 questionnaires.Finally,the paper puts forward some teaching suggestions to provide references for English teachers to adopt feedback effectively in senior high school class.Main research questions are as follows:1.What are the proportions of single feedback and complex feedback in high school English class teaching at present?2.What are the attitudes and preferences of teachers and students towards these two kinds of feedback?3.What are the influences of teacher's feedback on the amount accuracy,complexity,and fluency of students' oral output?Main research findings are as follows:Firstly,the used frequency of complex feedback is significantly lower than that of single feedback while the former does exert a more positive role in prompting students' English oral output in senior high school English class.Secondly,there are some significant differences between students and teachers in their attitudes and preferences towards feedback.Thirdly,the influence of teacher's feedback on the amount,complexity and accuracy of students'oral output turn to be relatively positive.Meanwhile,teachers in this study tend to pay'more attention to the students' content in details and their mistakes in teaching process,which affects the fluency of learners' output to some degree.Based on the research findings,the following suggestions are put forward:Firstly,teachers should attach more importance to complex feedback.Secondly,teachers should adopt feedback according to students' needs.Thirdly,teachers should pay attention to the effectiveness of teacher's feedback.Finally,teacher should reflect on their own feedback constantly.
