The Extended Illusion

In contemporary artistic creation,mirror image is widely used as a common medium,involving large numbers of contemporary artists and works of art.In many cases,mirror image becomes the guide of self-reflection,illusion construction and reality touching.Mirror media always lengthens the meaning of space and time.It integrates space and reverses images,and brings people endless imagination and experience.Compared with other medias,mirror media may be more flexible and pluralistic.As a means of expression in artistic creation,the artistic situation and visual effect presented by mirror image,as well as its potential multiple metaphors,are in fact very worthy of study.In the research and practice of Master's program,I often involve in the exploration and application of mirror media.Therefore,through the process of writing this paper,I want to sort out the mirror effect produced by mirror media,and further explore and study the significance of mirror image in the process of creating works,as well as the different perceptual experience it brings to the viewers,including the relationship between ideas and forms in the works.I hope that I can explore the concepts and spiritual experience behind mirror media,and excavate more enlightenment and possibilities of mirror media in the research and creation in future,through the material characteristics of mirror media,the relationship between mirror image to space,and mirror image to viewers.Mirror media,as a medium of artistic creation,has been running through the process of art history.However,according to the current relevant literature.Most of them are the study of material characteristics,or the brief comments of some artists' works.Mirror media,as a kind of object or material that often involved in artistic creation nowadays,its special language needs to be further studied.It is worth discussing in term of the state of matter it formed in the works,the perspective of artists in choosing materials,the way of creation and the relationship between mirror media to place and to situation,including the interaction between mirror media and viewers.In this paper,the author hopes to sort out more essential content through the analysis of the actual cases of contemporary art,and to expend to the rich possibilities and enlightenment of the media in the creation through the works and concepts full of philosophical thinking.
