When elevating itself or beautifying objects and the environment,calligraphy art is related to the concept of decoration,thus forming the unique culture of calligraphy decoration of Chinese characters.Porcelain is a significant carrier for the artistic creation of calligraphy.On porcelain objects,calligraphy of Chinese characters cannot be applied as expressively and correctly as in practical calligraphy,or as freely and spiritually as in calligraphy art,but needs to form consistent harmony with the main body of the decorated objects.The decoration function and the ontological significance of calligraphy of Chinese characters on porcelain correspond to the two parts of the theme of the thesis respectively,"The Performance and Application of Calligraphy Decoration of Chinese Characters on Porcelain",The exploration in practice requires supporting theories.In view of the porcelain craze in the calligraphy field,this thesis researches the aesthetic attributes of calligraphy decoration of Chinese characters on porcelain in terms of cultural background,ways of performance and application based on a great number of historical textual research materials,with works decorated with Chinese character calligraphy taking porcelain as the carrier in ancient China as the entry point and existing ontological research on calligraphy art as the basis.It is hoped that the thesis will guide the author's future artistic practice.
