Public space is one of the concepts commonly used in the academic circles of English-speaking countries since the beginning of the 20 th century.This public space with open,open traits and free participation and recognition by the public is called public space,and public art refers to the artistic creation and corresponding environmental design in this public open space.The public environment of mankind is an activity stage of a social group tribe as an image.It is a living environment for people who are inextricably linked with landform,races,contexts and ecology.Considering and treating the public environment from the perspective of art is an important aspect of human beings to optimize their living conditions and optimize their own situation.Looking back at the development of social history,we can read such a development process about environmental art and public art.Public art design has an intrinsically inseparable connection with the public:The public is the main body of input,creation,evaluation and use of public art design.It is the center and scale of public art design and the ultimate destination of public art design.Public art design should fully reflect and reflect the common will and aesthetic sentiment of the public,and convey the humanistic care for the warmth of the public.Based on the relationship between people's lifestyle and public art,this paper analyzes the nature of public art and the driving factors of its evolution,explores the relationship between people and art and the significance of public art to society.
