Research On The Economic Performance And Influencing Factors Of Beijing’s Cultural Creative Industry

At present,cultural and creative industry has developed into a sunrise industry in the new era and attracted the attention of the world.Under this background,the development speed of Beijing’s cultural and creative industry is very fast,and its scale continues to expand.But the overall competitiveness that can be measured by efficiency and productivity is relatively weak.Therefore,the paper studies the efficiency and productivity of Beijing’s cultural and creative industry,thus providing references for the relevant departments to formulate industrial support policies.Firstly,separately choosing 9 types of industries included in Beijing’s cultural and creative industry during 2008-2015 as the research objects under vertical perspective,and cultural and creative industry of China’s 14 provinces during 2012-2015 as the research objects under transverse perspective,the paper used entropy-weighted SBM(Slack-Based Measure,SBM)model to respectively calculate industrial efficiency under two perspectives.The results showed that under vertical perspective,the lack of output directly led to inefficiency of Beijing’s cultural and creative industry.About 56%of the industries’ inefficiency was mainly caused by insufficient output among the 9 types of industries;under transverse perspective,the efficiency level of Beijing’s cultural creative industry was much higher than the average level of 14 provinces and ranked sixth.And excessive input led to its inefficiency.Secondly,based on the industrial inefficiency values,the paper applied a new Luenberger productivity model to calculate the industrial TFP(Total Factor Productivity,TFP)and decompose it according to components under two perspectives.The results indicated that under vertical perspective,the productivity of Beijing’s cultural and creative industry showed a positive growth trend,which mainly owed to the improvement of efficiency.Moreover,the expansion of industrial scale had promoted the increase of productivity.Among the 9 types of industries,about 33%of the industries showed positive growth in productivity,which was mostly due to LEC’s contribution.The TFP of Beijing’s cultural and creative industry fluctuated significantly in 2008-2015,which was largely affected by LTP’s change;under transverse perspective,the productivity of Beijing’s cultural and creative industry was far higher than the average level of 14 provinces and ranked second,which was mainly influenced by LTP.Thirdly,based on the results of TFP,this paper adopted input-output decomposition method of the new Luenberger model to discuss the specific factors that affected the productivity of Beijing’s cultural and creative industry under two perspectives.The study found that under vertical perspective,the productivity growth of Beijing’s cultural and creative industry mainly came from the output’s positive influence.For most of the 9 types of industries,promoting economic development and increasing output had been an important way to improve productivity.From 2008 to 2015,output was the main factor of the productivity’s increasing,the efficiency’s improving and the technology’s backsliding for Beijing’s cultural and creative industry;under transverse perspective,output directly promoted the productivity growth of Beijing’s cultural and creative industry.Finally,this paper summarized the research results and provided the industrial development strategy for Beijing’s relevant departments.
