Both Su Tong and McCullers are writers with great influence in China and the United States.Although they live in different areas and have different cultural characteristics, the characters, environment and relationships created in their novels are all revealed.Amazing, showing a pathological state. This paper adopts the method of parallel research, starting from the perspective of morbid narrative, through the fine reading of the text,to experience the shrinkage, distortion and morbidity of life.Su Tong and McCullers used morbidity as an entry point for their creations, writing their deep thoughts on human nature and thinking about people's survival dilemmas. In the introduction part, the thesis analyzes the research status of Su Tong and McCuller and the theoretical basis and research significance of this paper in domestic and foreign academic circles. The first chapter discusses what influenced the creation of the pathological writing of the two writers.Mainly from three aspects: the emergence of self-infected disease experience, the influence of unique regional culture in the south, and the inheritance of pathological literary tradition. The second chapter mainly shows the content of pathological writing in Su Tong and McCuller's novels. It is divided into three aspects: the relationship between morbidity, environmental morbidity and morbidity. The two authors show us a pathological world. The third chapter discusses the ways in which Su Tong and McCullers resist the dilemma of life. They are strikingly similar in helping the characters escape from the predicament and stay away from the pathological life. They all use the most direct and most influential ways – violent resolution and self-deception self-salvation.The fourth chapter discusses what symbolic meanings are expressed in the use of pathological writing in Su Tong and McCullers' novels.Through the pathological writing, they carried out a deep exploration of the humanity behind the characters. The pathological state of Su Tong not only metaphorized the fall of morality, but also metaphorized the invasion of the urban civilization by the continuous development of the city, the suppression of feudal culture and the fission of the times. The tragedy of sick people not only comes from the outside world, but their own desires also make themembark on a road of no return. The characters in McCullers' novels show the evil of human nature and "animosity".They become so because of the lack of faith and the spiritual isolation between people.
