Regarding todays discussion on art, artistic processes expand and diversify. This thesis discusses four artists3 in a comparative case study.Be it from the angle of material similarity, that of clay,or using ceramics as a structure that suggests a different practice investigating in the field of “Ceramics as Prints”.Discussion on their works is carried on by looking across discipline and tracing the mechanisms of the ways it is made as is of interest in regard to Glenn Adamson's and Julia Bryan-Wilson's research(Art in the Making)4.Adamson and Bryan-Wilson,who both are significant contributors to contemporary ceramics and craft discourse internationally, are not particularly talking about craftsmanship when looking at art works, their method is about opening one's eyes to all the mechanisms that are involved in making an art work. So,they can participate in critique and evaluation of art without being forced into the theoretical background of a discipline.Their method considers interdisciplinarity as taking the core, the action of making,as a cross-disciplinary act. This paper aims to analyze ceramic art works related to photography under the idea of “Print”.The case studies conducted attempts to provide insight and open new categories of approach.
