Yinka Shonibare,an African-born artist born in the UK,grew up in Nigeria,studied in the UK,and now lives and works in the UK.Over the past decade,he has become known for his exploration of colonialism and post-coloniatism in the contemporary context of globalization.Shonibare' s work explores post-colonialism,as well as physical,racial.and class issues through a series of media,including painting,sculpture,photography,installation,video,and performance.From a historical point of view,the entire modern history is the colonial history of the West.Fabric as a symbol of nationality and identity plays an important role in it.However,the academic value of fabrics is often underestimated and has not received much attention in postcolonial studies.This does not mean that the significance of the fabric can be ignored,and the study of the works of the Shonibare can just make up for this shortcoming.In the research field of fiber art,Shonibare is an artist worthy of attention.In the research field of fiber art,Shonibare is an artist worthy of attention.I hope to study his artistic concept through the analysis and comparison and sorting out and summarizing of his individual cases.The writing ideas of this paper are as follows:The first chapter discusses the background of the formation of his art works from the social environment,growth environment and personal experience of Shonibare.It will focus on the views and attitudes towards humor generated by Shonibare after his illness,as well as the embodiment of this kind of humor in the form and concept of his works.The second chapter analyzes the works of inka shunibal,starting from the fabric materials he has been using,tracing its historical origin,analyzing the function of fabric in the form language and concept of the works,and expounding the methods and ideas of the works.The third chapter will discuss the artistic means of Sinibal,think about the future of Sinibal' s works,and discuss the spatial feelings brought by the unique logic of the pattern in his works.
