Translation Report On Technical Text Powering The Future From The Perspective Of Skopostheorie

In current world,the development of science and technology has become more and more important,which has also led to the development of translation studies on technical text.Technical text is an important part of English texts,so it is of great practical significance to study the translation strategies of such kind of text.This report was completed under the guidance of Skopostheorie and took Skopostheorie as the theoretical support in this translation practice report.Through explaining the specific content of Skopostheorie and relying on the three basic principles of Skopostheorie,the skopos rule,the coherence rule and the fidelity rule,this report discussed how to choose proper translation strategies under the guidance of Skopostheorie.The translator first made a contrastive analysis from lexical aspect on the forms of English inflexion and non-finite verbs and the forms after converted into Chinese,as well as the analysis on the word formation between Chinese and English,and then gave examples to illustrate them.Then,the translator made a contrastive analysis from syntactic aspect on the forms of attributive postposition sentences,passive voice sentences and long difficult sentences and the forms after converted into Chinese,which was also illustrated by examples.It is important to note that in the process of translation,much more attention should be paid on the differences in lexical meaning and usage between English and Chinese.When it comes to long difficult sentences,the translator should be more flexible and integrate literal translation,free translation,explicit translation,implicit translation and other translation methods to achieve the unity of style between the original text and the target text.In translation practice report on Powering the Future,the translator cannot only have a deeper understanding on Skopostheorie,but also can be able to skillfully choose proper translation strategies under the guidance of Skopostheorie in future’s translation.Meanwhile,it can provide some reference cases for translators working on the same subject,and thus promote the development of technical translation cause in China.
