Modal adverbs have been a hot topic in linguistic research in recent years, and they are also important and difficult points in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Conjectural Adverbs are a small category of modal adverbs. On the basis of previous studies, this paper mainly makes a detailed study of the 14 Conjectural Adverbs“Huozhe”,”Yexu”.”Kongpa”,”Dagai”,”Dayue”,”Haoxiang”,”Sihu”,”Fangfu”,”H uozhe”,”Zhishao”,”Qima”,”Jihu”,”Cha buduo”,”Jianzhi” in the New HSK Vocabulary Syllabus from the aspects of syntax, semantics and pragmatics, sums up their characteristics and puts forward corresponding teaching strategies. The first part is the introduction, which discusses the research significance, purpose,Modal adverbs,Conjectural Adverbs, subjective and subjective research status, research scope and research methods,as well as the source of corpus.Next,it is divided into four parts:The first part is about the syntactic position and co-occurrence of speculative adverbs.First of all,we study their syntactic positions. They can appear at the beginning, middle and end of a sentence. They can also be used alone, reflecting flexibility. It also analyses the restrictions on the choice of the subject before the subject at the beginning of the sentence and on the choice of the predicate before the predicate. When used alone,it can be divided into two kinds: the use alone and the use together with the modal particles at the end of the sentence, most of which are omitted in the answer. In terms of coherence,we describe and analyze their coherence according to the corpus, and examine their differences in co-occurrence ability, among which "Zhishao" is the strongest and "Kongpa" is the weakest. The second part examines the semantic similarities and differences of speculative adverbs. On the premise of understanding their basic semantics, this paper summarizes their semantic features and draws a conclusion that their common semantic features are "speculation","uncertainty","subjectivity" and "euphemism".The difference is that the degree of confidence and subjective quantity are different. The third part discusses the stylistic choice and pragmatic function of speculative adverbs.According to the number of speculative adverbs appearing in colloquial fiction, this paper examines the use of daily language, legal documents, newspapers,Social Sciences and natural sciences, and the use of professional language. Then it analyses their pragmatic functions from three aspects: expressive function, evaluative function and emphasizing function. The fourth part is to find out the part of speculative adverbs appearing in HSK exam questions and point out the necessity of teaching.According to the previous research results, the theoretical teaching strategies are proposed, which are semantic analysis and sentence pattern induction, comparison and expansion, situation setting and exercise design. The last part is the conclusion of the whole paper, which summarizes the research and points out the shortcomings.
