Research On The Inheritance And Development Of Marble Culture In Sanwenbi Bai Village

The Central Working Conference about Nationality Affairs held in 2014 proposed,“we should pay attention to the use of distinctive geographical scenes and cultural advantages,plan and build of a series of distinctive villages and towns with ethnic features.”The building of villages and towns with minority features has become an important handle for the work on nationality affairs.In the new era for socialism with Chinese characteristics,we should deeply implement and put in place the guiding principles of the 19 th National Congress of Communist Party of China,seize opportunities to implement the strategy of rejuvenating villages,further promote the building of villages and towns with minority features,and accelerate the economic and social development of ethnic regions.This thesis focuses on the study of the building of villages and towns with the special feature of marble cultural industry in Sanwenbi Bai Village in Dali of Yunnan Province.Through sorting out the development of marble culture in Sanwenbi Village since the Tang Dynasty(Nanzhao Kingdom),the thesis shows its profound ethnic culture and intense ethnic customs;in particular,the “Stone Base Street” which has been present here for over 1,000 years is the origin of marble processing and plays an important role in satisfying the production and life needs of local residents and realizing the exchanges and circulation of marble commodities;since modern times,though great changes have taken place in Sanwenbi Village,it still inherits the marble culture that has been handed down for over1,000 years;In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics,the inheritance and development of the marble culture of Sanwenbi Village faces a series of problems,Sanwenbi Village makes full use of the favorable impact of national policies on the economic and social development of Sanwenbi Village and vigorously plans and builds distinctive villages and towns with marble cultural features,it is the correct path for the inheritance and development of Sanwenbi Village marble culture in the new era.The sparking points of this thesis are mainly shown in the following aspects: Firstly,the surveyed point Sanwenbi Village possess the interaction between marble culture and Bai ethnic culture that has lasted for over 1,000 years and it is typical and serves as a model for the building of ethnic villages and towns.Secondly,the thesis has adopted the method of field research in ethnology,conducted in-depth interview with Bai residents in Sanwenbi Village and experts and scholars on marble culture,and obtained first-hand materials;thirdly,the thesis collects the data on the historical culture,and economic life of Sanwenbi Village,and analyzed and studied the process of development and evolution for the marble culture in Sanwenbi Village;fourthly,in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics,the thesis proposes constructive thinking on the planning and building of distinctive ethnic villages and towns with marble cultural features.
