Historical Research On Music Of Jin Shi Yuexuan In Western Han Dynasty

System of “Yue Xuan” refers to those large-scale hanging instruments that must be hung up when playing,such as Zhong and Qing,which was endowed with political connotation in Zhou Dynasty.This system was one of the main contents of the ritual and music system in Zhou Dynasty and had strict grade criterion that specifies the shape,arrangement,sound column and compilation of the instrument.Due to the decline of bronze musical instrument casting technology in the late Warring States period and the excavation of funerary objects in the eastern Han Dynasty tombs,some scholars believed that the “Yue Xuan” no longer existed in Han Dynasty.However,the unearthing of the Jinshi musical instrument in the "Siwang Tomb" of the western Han Dynasty(Luozhuang Han Tomb,Nanyue King's Tomb,Dayunshan Han Tomb and Haihun Marquis tomb)shows that the system of “Yue Xuan” has not disappeared in the western Han Dynasty and there is still a unified norm.According to the musical instruments unearthed from the Luozhuang Han Tomb,the Nanyue King's Tomb,the Dayunshan Han Tomb and the Haihun Marquis tomb of the western Han Dynasty,the paper firstly sorted out and analyzed the shape,structure,arrangement and sound column of “Jin Shi Yue Xuan”.Secondly,from the horizontal and vertical aspects,the characteristics of the "four kings tomb" are summarized.As an important part of ritual and music system in Zhou Dynasty,“Jin Shi Yue Xuan”was inherited and innovated during the Western Han Dynasty.In addition,“Jin Shi Yue Xuan” between the four tombs follows the same norms but also present different characteristics at the same time.Finally,combined with the concept of rites and music and social relations in the Han Dynasty,this paper analyzes the causes of the characteristics of the "Siwang Tomb".
