Discussion On The Structure Analysis And Performance Characteristics Of Victor Babin’ Hillandale Waltzes

Victor Barbin’s "Hillandale Waltzes" is a relatively unpopular piece of clarinet works.I am going to play this piece at the degree concert.So I choose this work as the research object of this paper.I hope to deepen the understanding of this work after learning to understand it,so as to better play this piece at the degree concert.The author learns this work by consulting materials,practicing playing and structure analysis.The paper is divided into the following parts: The first part is an introduction to the life and creation of the composer Victor Babin(1908-1972),which briefly describes the experience of the composer and the works he created;the second part is an introduction to the music genre of variations and its representative works;the third part is an analysis of the structure of the waltz to which the works belong,introducing the characteristics and representatives of the waltz.The fourth part is to analyze the structure and performance of the works,as well as the music effect and style characteristics.Through the study and performance of the work and the above-mentioned parts of understanding,the author has a new understanding of the work.After an analysis of the nine parts of the work,it is found that although the technical requirements of the work are relatively low,the performers have higher requirements for the ability of musical expression and understanding,and the changeable passages require the performers to have enough in-depth understanding of the work.Understanding can be shown,and the need for a comprehensive analysis of the performance of the work is felt.
