Research background and objectivesEmotion is a complex pattern of changes in mind, including physiological arousal, sensation, cognitive processes, and behavioral responses. In human activities, emotion plays an important role. The individual have to reflect the influence of situational stimulation on himself, and at the same time adjust the response to the stimulus.People have to process, transform, encode and express the received information for the purpose of interpersonal interaction and environmental adaptation. In this process, the regulation of emotion has an important impact on the physical and mental health of individual.Existing research has pointed out that emotion regulation strategies will affect the stress response and coping style of the cadets. There is no relevant research about that whether the difference in the way of emotion regulation will affect the soldier's interpretation of the situation and make a wrong judgment. With the emergence of a series of modern warfare forms such as shortened spatial distance, more concealed offense, increased confrontation intensity, and enhanced timeliness;the complex and changeable battlefield environment puts higher demands on the emotional adjustment function of military personality. All of them become the key factors affecting the level of combat effectiveness. In order to explore the characteristics of soldiers' emotional regulation and the impact on mental health, and provide a theoretical basis for enhancing the emotional control ability,we select the cadets to conduct research, analyze the impact of emotional adjustment methods on interpretation bias in the ambiguous situation, and develop corresponding psychological intervention measures for the future.Objects and methodsIn this study,we take the mlitary medical students as the study object, conducted through questionnaires, interviews, and behavioral experiments. The research is divided into three parts, the first part studies the characteristics of emotional adjustment methods of cadets and the relationship with anxiety and depression levels;the second part constructs the situation library of the cadets for the interpretation bias experiment, laying the foundation for the future experiments;the third part explores the behavioral experimental research on the influence of emotional regulation on interpretation bias.1.The use frequency of emotional adjustment methods by cadets from high to low is self-comfort,behavior-restrain,affective-appeal,cognitive-focus.2.Male students scored significantly higher on self-comfort dimensions than female students;the scores of the only child students in the cognitive-focus dimension are significantly lower than those of the non-only child students, while the scores in the behavior-restrain dimension are significantly higher than those of the non-only child students.3.The cognitive-focus of cadets is significantly positively correlated with the level of anxiety(r=0.413,p < 0.01),behavior-restrain and self-comfort were significantly negatively correlated with anxiety levels(r=-0.163,p=0.012<0.05;r=-0.351,p<0.01);cognitive-focus is significantly positively correlated with depression levels(r=0.443,p<0.01),affective-appeal and self-comfort are significantly negatively correlated with depression levels(r=-0.230,p<0.01;r=-0.334,p<0.01).4.Regression analysis results indicate that cognitive-focus have significantly positive prediction effects on anxiety and depression reactions(?=1.062,p<0.01;?=1.332,p<0.01),self-comfort have significantly negative prediction effects on anxiety reaction(?=-0.705,p<0.01),affective-appeal have significantly negative prediction effects on depression reaction(?=-0.745,p<0.01).5.The cadet situational material library has been constructed, including 54 positive situations,18 negative situations, and 45 ambiguous situations.6.In the experiment of interpretation bias, regression analysis results indicate that behavior-restrain have significantly positive prediction effects on the identity rate of negative words(?=-0.020,p<0.01)and significantly negative prediction effects on response time of identifying negative words(?=-42.657,p<0.05).Self-comfort have significantly positive prediction effects on the identity rate of positive words(?=0.012,p<0.05).Cognitive-focus have significantly positive prediction effects on response time of identifying positive words(?=52.649,p<0.01).Conclusions1.The use frequency of emotional adjustment methods by cadets from high to low is self-comfort,behavior-restrain,affective-appeal,cognitive-focus,and the relationship between emotional regulation and the level of anxiety or depression.2.There is a significant difference in emotion regulation between the male students and the female students. It also appears significant difference between the one-child group Main results and others.3.The military medical students' situational library is well-represented and can be used as an experimental material for future research.4.Cadet who frequently use the affective-appeal strategy identify the negative stimuli faster;the more they use self-comfort,the less they use behavior-restrain,the more they tend to show positively interpretation bias.
