A Study On The Concept Of Land Worship In Local Folktales In Chongqing

As the foundation of human survival and continuation,the land worship concept and the ancient customs directly related to it have a long history.In China's traditional agricultural society,the relationship between people and land is particularly close.The land culture evolved gradually on the basis of land worship consciousness,constructed the ideological system of the majority of social members,and then formed a series of deeply rooted folk customs,which have become an important part of China's excellent traditional culture.In today's society,with the acceleration of industrialization and urbanization,the direct interdependence between people and arable land has been improved,and the strong attachment and desire for land among social members seems to be weakened.However,the sustainable development of land resources is still the fundamental basis for the development of modern society,and the eternal value of land culture is unlikely to disappear due to the transformation of social production and lifestyle.Reasonable ingredient to the concept of traditional land worship,such as contains the meantime the value of land,protect the environment,maintain survival and the interests of the collective,equality,loyalty,solidarity and mutual assistance and advocating filial piety,basic concepts,such as respect for the old still in the construction of a harmonious society and the ecological civilization is still the majority of social members abide by the code of conduct and morality.Local folk tales in chongqing are rich and colorful.Many of them,including zouma town,have been included in the national intangible cultural heritage list.At the same time,the rural areas of chongqing are characterized by high mountains,long rivers,large population and little land.In history,the land worship consciousness is extremely strong,and the concept of land worship and its corresponding folk customs also have a long history.Nowadays,many unexplainable land worship concepts and external presentation forms of local customs have been gradually lost,but in the process of local folktales' speech and inheritance,they have been relatively intact in a way of cultural residue that is not difficult to understand.Thus,the concept of land worship and local folktales formed a direct correlation.From folklore related theory as the basis,this paper through the story,the field investigation and other methods,as well as the origin and the local customs,local land worship concept aims to pursuit,excavated in the possibility of the development and utilization of resources of traditional culture and social cognitive value,for the local culture heritage,reconstruct local fresh air good,has the positive practical significance.This paper is divided into five chapters,the main content is as follows:The first chapter is the introduction.It mainly includes the elaboration of the topic selection,research significance,research status and innovation of this paper.The second chapter is the definition of theoretical methods and related concepts.Firstly,the theories involved in this paper,such as folk inheritance theory,folk cybernetics,folk life and structural functionalism,are explained.Secondly,it explains the research method of this paper,which is mainly based on literature research and supplemented by field survey.At the same time,it introduces the situation of field survey sites and the basic situation of interviewees.Finally,this paper defines the basic concepts of folk tales and land worship.The third chapter is the type analysis of the land worship concept in chongqing local folk stories.Mainly to spread in downtown chongqing,baxian,jiangbei integrated folk tales of text data,analysis,according to land worship concept in chongqing presents the differences,in combination with the actual situation of three field site,divide the land worship concepts types of chongqing,Guangyang town qualities between staying in the most prominent,and zouma town flow show distinct characteristics,and in Yubei,is showing a strong patriarchal atmosphere.The fourth chapter analyzes the forming reason and function of chongqing land worship concept.Through the field investigation,the three places show different characteristics,which are derived from the combined effect of many factors,such as natural geography,social history and so on.The natural condition of more sloping land and less cultivated land makes people cherish land like gold.The development of post culture brought about the integration of mountain culture and commercial culture,and brought up the open customs and flowing social form.The immobility of land and the cultural tradition of plowing and reading to pass on one's family made the people who had settled in the old place experience the migration movement and develop a stronger patriarchal atmosphere in the new social environment.Based on the theories of structuralism of folklore and anthropology,this paper analyzes the concept of local land worship in chongqing and explains its main functions of education,adjustment and entertainment.As an integral part of the farming culture system in chongqing,the concept of land worship can not only meet the cultural consumption needs of individual social members to a certain extent,but also be an indispensable important element in the whole local cultural system.The fifth chapter is the inheritance status and contemporary value of land worship concept.The concept of land worship is a product of history,which still exists today.It is still flourishing in rural areas of chongqing and can be seen occasionally in city.However,the environment for the inheritance of and worship has changed,and folk tales,as the main carrier,are also facing the situation of inheritance.However,the concept of land worship still has a certain value of cultural development and utilization in the new era,in which it advocates the value of land,attaches importance to filial piety,emphasizes social order and other reasonable connotations,and has a positive significance and promoting role in the construction of ecological civilization and harmonious society in the new era.
