The Sichuan flood in 1947 was a rare flood in Sichuan during the Republic of China.This article uses archives,local records,newspapers,academic papers and other relevant literature materials to focus on the general situation,causes,disaster relief policies,disaster relief measures and disaster relief effects of this major flood.From the flood situation,the catastrophic flood disaster has a wide range,heavy losses and great harm.The number of affected counties reached more than 80 counties,and the loss was over one trillion yuan,affecting tens of millions of people.From the reason of floods,this mega-large The occurrence of floods is caused by long-term heavy rains,but it is also related to the staleness of water conservancy facilities and negative disaster prevention measures.From the perspective of disaster relief policies,the Nanjing National Government and the Sichuan Provincial Government have promulgated a series of disaster relief regulations,and related disaster relief agencies.From the perspective of disaster relief measures,the Nanjing National Government,the Sichuan Provincial Government,and all sectors of society have taken relevant relief measures,such as issuing funds to save money,donating materials,handling loans,and repairing water conservancy.From the perspective of flood relief effects,the relief measures of the government and various sectors of society have played a certain positive role to a certain extent,alleviating the disaster situation and the disaster victims' difficulties.However,there are also some problems,such as the release of Insufficient funds,lack of awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation,etc.Through analysis and discussion,this paper preliminarily reveals the law and characteristics of the development and evolution of flood relief activities in Sichuan Province and all walks of life in 1947,and also provides historical lessons for contemporary social disaster relief.
