The source text of this translation report is selected from Chapter 1 The reasons supporting the use of music in rehabilitation and Chapter 2 Enhancing selfregulatory skills in ADHD through music from Music interventions for neurodevelopmental disorders.This book presents the reasons why music is useful in the field of neurodevelopmental disorders,and proposes a comprehensive theory supported by experimental results to guide rehabilitation therapists to more appropriately adopt music therapy for patients with ADHD or neurodevelopmental disorders.Therefore,the rehabilitation treatment methods can be further improved and the formation of a comprehensive system of domestic rehabilitation treatment starts to pick up pace.The translation report is divided into four parts.The first part is a general introduction to this report,including its background,significance and structure.The second part presents the analysis to the source text,namely the introduction to the author,the main contents and the linguistic feature.According to Katharina Raiss' s theory of text typology,this source text is surly to be categorized into informative text.The translation of this type of text ought to stay focus on accuracy and readability.The third part mainly touches upon the translation theory,which is the essence of this report.Meanwhile,this part also deals with the difficulties and the corresponding solution in the process of translation.Under the guidance of Nida's functional equivalence theory,the translator accomplished the translation with skills like division,amplification and inversion,etc.The terminologies and long sentences are the obstacles along the translating process.The last part came to the conclusion about what the translator have learned and the problems yet to be solved.Hopefully,this report can provide a reference for the future study of the informative text translation.
