| With Flipped Classroom developing gradually in college,students can make full use of time to study with autonomy,thus it is essential to stimulate and maintain the students’ motivation of study to promote students’ self-study effectively.According to the data of the final examination of college English of non-English major freshmen and the author’s practical experience,as a result,it is easy to find out the lower study motivation of influencing the efficiency of self-study.The author,therefore,decides to make a research of the needs of non-English major freshmen in terms of autonomy,competence and relatedness in college English Flipped Classroom,working to discuss the factors of the study motivation,and then to optimize students’ study motivation and improve their quality of study.Taking the teachers and students of Sichuan International Studies University as an example,the author analyzes the factors of the study motivation with the basic teaching process as the vertical dimension and the autonomy,competence and relatedness of study motivation theory as horizontal dimension.First of all,the author,by the questionnaire survey,does preliminary,middle and final survey of current situation of study motivation of non-English major freshmen in Flipped Classroom,analyzing the factors of students’ needs on autonomy,competence and relatedness,then,discovering the typical problems of Flipped Classroom..Secondly,the author makes interviews with the teachers and students of college English Flipped Classroom based on the result of the questionnaire survey,discussing the factors of students’ study motivation.Based on the research,the students’ low study motivation is mainly caused by unfulfilled needs in the aspects of autonomy,competence and relatedness in some teaching procedures of Flipped Classroom,which is proven to be in the three aspects: before class,the method of video production and content arrangement lacks rationality;in class,the design of knowledge test,teachers’ guidance and teacher-student interaction is flawed;after class,the channels of question and answer,feedback and interaction between teachers and students are not convenient.From what has been mentioned above,the strategies have been given to optimize the students’ motivation in college English Flipped Classroom,meeting students’ needs on autonomy,competence and relatedness.Specific steps will be taken as follows: firstly,clear tasks and objectives of video are assigned,the production of video optimized,offline operation of video facilitated to satisfy the autonomous need of students to stimulate studemts’ interest and motivation.Secondly,what the video is about is selected and simplified,the testing methods upgraded and the feedback after class intensified to satisfy the competence need of students to improve students’ self-efficacy and competency.Finally,the interaction is stepped up between students and teachers,students and students to satisfy the related need of students to stimulate and internalize the study motivation.All these are to optimize students’ study motivation in college English Flipped Classroom and to promote students to study better. |
