A Report On The English-Chinese Translation Of Conditionals In Part 3 Of Data Protection Act 2018

This is a translation report on the translation methods of English conditional sentences in Part 3 of Data Protection Act 2018.Based on the translation of Part 3 of Data Protection Act 2018,the author finds that there are a large number of conditional sentences in this translation material and nice translation of conditional sentences matters a great deal.In order to convey the information accurately and achieve the effective communication,it is necessary to distinguish and respect the differences between Chinese and English conditionals.Therefore,by giving an overview of conditionals in terms of definitions and types as well as having comparisons between Chinese conditionals and English conditionals,this translation report makes an analysis of the conditional clause in this translation material,and concludes two appropriate translation methods(literal translation and liberal translation).Appling appropriate translation methods in translation is helpful to realize the equivalence in terms of content,form,legal sense and legal effect.
