In the process of art modernization,traditional Chinese literati viewed,judged,collected and trade works in a "Ya Ji"(??,literati gathering)way.During the early Republican period(1912-1928),the concepts of salon,museum and gallery were spread to China.Thus,not only refined scholars,high officials and noble lords,but also general public can participate in art appreciation.Thanks to the introduction of western arts,rise of artistic ideological trends,development of the art revolution,emergence of the modem art movement and upsurge of art education,more and more individual,community and national art exhibitions were hold.Beijing Central Park(renamed Zhong Shan Park in 1928),which was opened in Oct.10,1914,played an important role in Beijing art circle at that time.Large numbers of art exhibitions were hold there,which involved a substantial amount of people.We know that the development of art had changed dramatically during the early Republican period.Not only the art research system,but also the social structure was deeply affected by western learning,so that lots of new phenomenon appeared under new utterance structure.Thanks to the effects on the art circle,the new phenomenon of art exhibition arose,which is similar with the traditional phenomenon of "Ya Ji".According to the historical and cultural phenomenon from ancient to modern times,it can be found that the concept of "Ya Ji" has changed semantically.Thus,the relationship between the traditional concept "Ya Ji" and new concept "Hua Zhan"(??,art exhibition)is worth research,based on which the culture psychology of the main body at that time can be analyzed.
