With the rapid development of information technology and the continuous advancement of globalization,the connection between countries around the world has been becoming increasingly close.As the largest developing country,China’s international status has been constantly improving,which has led to more and more exchanges between China and other countries in the world.And the scope is also expanding,which requires more internationalized talents.One of the criteria for measuring international talents is whether they have intercultural communicative competence.In 2017,the latest The National English Curriculum Standard for Senior High School guided by Chinese Ministry of Education emphasized that not only should we pay attention to the cultivation of language knowledge and skills,but also focus on cultivating students’ intercultural communication skills in English teaching.It is the golden time to shape students’ abilities in all aspects in senior high school.Therefore,it is necessary to cultivate students’ intercultural communicative competence in high school English teaching.In order to explore the status of Intercultural Communicative Competence Cultivation in senior high school English teaching,this study mainly conducts research through classroom observation,questionnaire investigation and teachers’ interview.Classroom observation selects Grade One,Grade Two and Grade Three of three senior high schools in J City,Heilongjiang Province,and observes 36 lessons in total.Questionnaire survey selects 300 students from the same school as Classroom observation.The teacher interview selects 15 senior high school English teachers.The results of the survey show that the cultivation of intercultural communicative competence in senior high school mainly has the following problems:The width of intercultural knowledge is not enough;The time for teaching intercultural knowledge is too little;The method of teaching intercultural knowledge issingle;Neglect the cultivation of students’ intercultural communicative attitude;Lack of intercultural verbal communicative skills training;Lack of intercultural non-verbal skills training.In view of the above problems,the author makes an in-depth analysis of the reasons,and on this basis,puts forward strategies to improve the cultivation of high school students’ intercultural communicative competence from three aspects of educational administration,schools and teachers.Among them,the strategies of educational administration include: Changing the existing student evaluation system;Improving the professional quality of teachers.Schools’ strategies include:Renewing the concept of education and promote the process of intercultural teaching;Creating an English cultural atmosphere to help intercultural teaching.Teachers’ strategies include:Establishing a correct cultural teaching concept;Strengthening their own theoretical knowledge;Exploring scientific teaching methods;Choosing suitable intercultural teaching content;Creating a helpful environment for cultivating intercultural communicative competence.
