| "Qi",as a high frequency construction word morpheme,has a strong word-building ability."Qi"is also one of the symbols of traditional Chinese culture.It has rich cultural connotation,involving nature,philosophy,medicine and aesthetics.Due to the classifications of meanings about "Qi" in the dictionaries are too complicated and overloaded,it is difficult for those foreign learners to memorize.Therefore,this paper attempts to classify these words from the perspective of culture.This paper divides words containing "Qi" possessing the same cultural background into the same group,and thus constructs different vocabulary networks.First of all,this paper explores the origin of the character "Qi" and the extension of its meanings.Secondly,this paper introduces the culture of "Qi" from three aspects,including philosophy,Traditional Chinese Medicine and aesthetics and then make cultural category of words containing "Qi".Next,this paper states how the mode of thinking influences the words containing "Qi" and also analyses different English translations of words containing "Qi" in the books.In addition,this part gives some teaching suggestions from aspect of thinking mode and vocabulary lacuna.Finally,this paper lists three teaching principles,including periodic principle,interesting principle and the principle of combining in-class teaching with out-of-class teaching.This part also lists three teaching methods of words containing "Qi",including building different vocabulary networks,culture introduction teaching and constructive analysis teaching.Also,this part carries out some teaching designs on the basis of previous analysis of this paper.The purposes of this study are to help foreign learners understand cultural connotations of "Qi" and Chinese thinking modes.Moreover,students can learn to memorize those same morpheme words by means of constructing vocabulary networks.This classification of words also realized the combination between vocabulary learning and culture introduction. |
