On Korea’s Response To Mukedeng And Its Countermeasures

China and Korea are connected bv mountains and rivers.The border between the two countries changed several times,and the tumen river gradually became the border between China and Korea in the Ming and qing dynasties.Due to the close geographical relationship between the two countries,it is inevitable that there will be some frictions.The "li wanzhi incident”in the forty-ninth year of the reign of emperor kangxi was regarded as the origin of the boundary demarcation between the qing dynasty and Korea.Therefore,in the fiftieth year of the reign of emperor kangxi,Mukedeng went to changbai mountain twice to inspect the border between China and Korea.This paper mainly researches from three angles.First of all,since the reign of emperor xuanzong of the Ming dynasty,China and Korea have taken the valu river and the tumen river as their borders,and analyzed the reasons behind the border of Mukedeng check the boundary.Secondly,from the Mukedeng exploration of the border between China and Korea,interpretation of the qing dynasty in view of the two countries lasted for a long time was vassal relationship,Reconnaissance trip to suit the huairou’s attitude towards the Korea,and understanding of the concept of territory,the ancient feudal dynasty and the modern national border,the border is an obvious difference between the factors such as,affected the officials of the qing dynasty and Korea’s diplomacy.Focusing on Korea’s response and countermeasures in the course of Mukedeng survey the border,On the contrary,the king and minister of Korea,prepare for a rainy day.He was alert to Mukedeng’ s visit and often discussed the countermeasures.In the process of the two visits,he evaded and perfunctory to varying degrees,so as to be prepared to deal with the emissaries of the qing dynasty.In turn,it explains why Korea has misgivings about Mr Mukedeng visit and has responded accordingly.Finally,after the second border inspection,in order to ensure a clearer border between the two countries,Mukedeng proposed to set up a boundary fence from the origin of the tumen river to the vicinity of maoshan.This was an important measure to clarify the qing dynasty’s territory,which also reflected the importance the qing dynasty attached to the construction of border and frontier areas.However,the lack of supervision of Korea,the aftermath of the work to Korea to complete unilaterally.During the building of the gate,the king and ministers of Korea discussed with each other and acted cautiously.Later,because of the famine in Korea,the building of the gate was interrupted.
