Chinese animation,originated in the 1920s,absorbed the essence from national spirit,national traditional art and values and many other aspects.A series of excellent classic animation works with cultural heritage of the Chinese nation.They can present the unique national spirit charm and national artistic conception of China both from their forms and their contents.This can adequately prove that Chinese animation has profound cultural deposits and elegant artistic feelings.This paper takes Chinese animation as the research focus.The introduction systematically sorts out and summarizes existing research materials of Chinese animation and found that traditional national art forms and formative arts of Chinese animation have internally logical relationship.In the introduction part,traditional national art is summarized into the field of national cultural forms so as to clarify values and significance of this research.Chapter 1 researches traditional national art forms and analyzes the inheritance and expression of Chinese animation to traditional national art forms in the 20th century from the three aspects of traditional painting art,paper cutting art and traditional opera art so as to find out the effects and functions of the application of traditional national art forms on animation modeling art.Chapter 2 focuses on the inheritance and innovation of formative arts in contemporary Chinese animation and finds and summarizes the inheritance and innovation of Chinese animation to national traditional culture and to foreign countries from the three aspects of character modeling,scene modeling and color modeling.Chapter 3 analyzes the reference and reconstruction of foreign cartoons to traditional Chinese art and culture from the three works of Mulan,Kung Fu Panda and Monkey King from a macro perspective.It also did an all-round and multi-angle analysis and summary of contents mentioned in the above three chapters.Chapter 4 brings some reflection and inspiration to Chinese animation from the three aspects of inheriting national culture,respecting cultural differences and broadening audience positioning.
